Word for Today:  April 1

His Life is a series of Divine Paradoxes.

Jesus Paid a Price.  A terrific Price… just to get help to you and me.

  • He came down in order that we might get raised up.
  • He became Mortal: (death-doomed) in order that we might become Immortal.
  • He became Guilty so that we might be Guiltless.
  • He became our sin, our sickness, our failure, our weakness so that we might have His Sinlessness, His health, His success, His strength.
  • He became Poor so that we might become Rich.
  • He forfeited Heaven’s Wealth in order to redeem us from the curse of poverty. (2 Cor. 8:9)
  • He Hurt that we might be healed from hurt.

“Surely (most certainly!) He hath borne our griefs (malady, anxiety, calamity, disease, sickness, grief), and carried our sorrows (anguish, affliction, grief, pain, sorrow); yet we did esteem Him smitten (slaughtered, murdered, punished, stricken, killed) of God and afflicted (browbeaten, depressed, hurt, ravished).  But He was wounded (profaned, broken, defiled, prostituted, stained) for our transgressions (rebellion), He was bruised (beaten to pieces, broken in pieces, crushed, destroyed, oppressed, smitten)  for our iniquities (evil, fault, sin); the chastisement of our peace (health, prosperity, peace, welfare) was upon Him; and with His stripes (bruises, wounds, marks) we are healed (mended, cured, repaired, made whole).  (Isa. 53: 4-5)

  • He Died that we might live. “I am come that you might have LIFE and that you might have it more abundantly…”  (John 10:10)

Jesus became what we are in order that we might be Who HE is….   (2Cor 5:21)
