On the Threshold a New Year
A New Year. I like “new.” Because it implies beginning again. Starting over. Correcting some errors and making some adjustments. New is exciting. Invigorating. Encouraging. Challenging. It means change and improvement. It can mean forgetting some bad things and concentrating on some better things.
It is no accident that your Salvation is called the New Birth. God likes New Things. And you are enough like Him to like New Things, too. I am going to take the advice of the Apostle Paul and Forget those things that are behind and I am going to reach forth unto those things that are before me and I am going to press toward the mark for the prize of the high and holy calling in Jesus Christ. (Phil 3:13-14)
Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
The Apostle Paul says several things here:
(1) He tells us to Forget the past.
(2) He encourages us to Reach for the things before us and then
(3) He admonishes us to Press on…
Now… What are you going to Forget that is behind you? Those things that drag you down, keep you depressed and force you into seclusion. Forget them. Forget whatever it is that keeps you from being who and what God created you to be and then determine to reach (dream) for the things that God has promised and Press (strain, be diligent and unmovable) toward the mark for the prize of the High Calling (that what He as extended to you and me… a High Calling) that is in Christ Jesus.
Refuse to continue to live in the past. You can. You must. Even if it was good, you can do nothing to change it. And if it was bad, sad, or depressing, there is still nothing you can do to change it. Satan will use all these “memories” to keep you depressed or melancholy or blue, sad, defeated, or hopeless. Forget them. Move on. Get up and get on with living. The past will plague you, hinder you, and keep you from becoming what God created you to become.
Stretch… Reach Forth…Be a Dreamer. Dreaming is OK. Scriptural dreaming is not fanaticizing. Fanaticizing involves carnal appetites and cravings. It usually deals with those things that will gratify lust or satisfy greed. Dreaming is God-Like. God had a dream. You are a part of His Dream and His Dream came true. Great men of God were Dreamers. They dreamed of fulfilling the plans and purposes of God. Moses dreamed. Abraham dreamed. Joseph dreamed. David dreamed. The prophets dreamed. Jesus dreamed. Dreamers are special and necessary in producing the Will of God on earth. Preachers should be dreamers… every believer should be a Dreamer….dreaming of bringing people into the fullness of God and into the completeness of their Redemption. Dreaming of walking continually in the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Dreaming of seeing the lost saved and the Gospel girding the globe…dreaming of nations coming into the Kingdom of God and of multitudes and millions being overcome with passion for God
I know you have some things you really want to see happen in 2022. I know you have some dreams…. Maybe some of them are being carried over from last year. It could be that some of the dreams you had did not manifest as you thought they would. Has the “deadline” come and gone? Has the “time” run out? Does it seem “too late”? Real dreams have no deadlines. They are so real and so vivid that you are already living in them by faith. Be encouraged… your faith will PRODUCE the FACT of your dream… It is real in the Spirit World and your Faith will produce it in the Natural World. God honors His Word (even above His Name… and there is no Name greater than or higher than His Name.
Dreamers are dangerous. They see life bigger than it is. They see no mountain too high to climb. No valley too deep to cross. No ocean to wide to overcome. The devil fears dreamers. He knows they are invincible. His kingdom cannot control them. His demons cannot defeat them. His plans against them are futile and his weapons against them will not and cannot prosper. Dreamers are what the Kingdom of God is made of. Not only are we Dreamers, but we are also God’s Dream fulfilled. And His Dream is still a Work in Progress. It is happening and we are a vital part of it. He planned it this way.
Here are some simple suggestions that will help you make your dreams come true. If you will notice all these suggestions come directly out of the Bible. They will work. They will not fail. They will produce. The only requirement is that you must Believe. And you can. You have Faith… and it is enough…. It is the Measure that God gave and it was enough to get you Born Again. If it can produce the greatest miracle in the human experience (the New Birth) it can produce anything else in line with the will of God.
1. Hold ON to YOUR DREAM.
2. Keep BELIEVING that your Dream will Come True.
3. Start NOW. TODAY. THIS MORNING. Begin with what you have…

.
7. Make preparation NOW for visitation
Dig ditches.
2 Kings 3:16 And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches.
Borrow pots.
1 Kings 17:12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
1 Kings 17:14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.
In 2022…The rain is coming and the oil will flow.
