Word for Today:  March 5

The Word tells us that those who are Born Again have become “partakers” of the Divine Nature of God the Father.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  2 Pet 1:4

The word for “partakers” in this context means:

• A partner, associate, comrade, companion,
• A partner, sharer, in anything. (Strong’s Concordance).

So, according to the Bible, at the time of Conversion, the believer becomes a sharer, a partner, an associate with God.  This experience affects the recipient, spirit, soul, and body.

The Spirit is quickened and brought to life, the Soul (mind and emotions) is renewed by the Word and the Body becomes the Temple of the Holy Ghost… the very dwelling place of God Himself.

In this verse, the word “nature” which is here described as “divine” is translated to mean “natural, lineal descent.”   (Gk. Phusis)  It is therefore in order to say that the Believer is a “natural, lineal descendent” of God Himself.

This is incredible.  When we are Born Again, Regenerated… we have the very Nature of God, a Divine Nature, imputed into us and we become at that very instant a descendent of Almighty God.
