Word for Today:  October 8

Has God ever come to the RESCUE for you in the past?

Has He ever gotten there in the “nick of time?”  Just consider the many times He has reached down and picked you up.  Held your hand.  Helped you to your feet again.   Remembering the Faithfulness of God in the past is a great deterrent to discouragement and despair in the present.  IF God was there then, He is there now.  If God was able then, He is able now.

Are you ready for deliverance?  Have you come to the place of casting all your care on Him?  Will you “give up” with your own efforts and trust God Totally?

An experienced mountain climber got caught on the face of a mountain.  He had fallen and dropped to the very end of his life line.  It was dark.  It was beginning to snow and a blizzard was approaching.  He hung on in the blinding snow and in the dark.  He knew he could not survive the night exposed on the mountain side.  He was not really a praying man, but he began to pray:  “Dear God, please help me.  Tell me what I must do to be delivered.  Speak to my heart and give me some direction… if you don’t I’m going to die.”

The voice of God spoke to him and said:  “Let Go.”  The climber refused because he was afraid.  He was convinced that if he turned loose he would fall thousands of feet to his death.

They found him the next day hanging on the end of the safety line… frozen to death.  One foot below his dangling feet was a ledge… a ledge large enough for him to find refuge from the storm and deliverance from certain death.

Let Go and trust God

Word for Today: October 7

Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.   Joshua 1:1-2

Notice what God tells Joshua: “Take possession of what I have given you.”  Every place… I have given unto you…  It is there for you.  I have saved it for you and provided it for you.  It is a land of abundance.  It is a land of plenty.  It is a land of rest and success.  It is a place of healing and health.  It is a land of safety and security.  It is a land of deliverance and protection.”

God has purchased awesome possessions for you through the Blood of His Son, Jesus.  The victory has been won and the prize has been captured.  It is for you and it is for me.

However, you will never have these possessions until you go over and take them.  They will never benefit you until you make up your mind to get up, go over and take possess them.  By action, by force and by faith.

The devil is “squatting” on what is legally yours.  he will stay there and laugh at you until you get up and go over and take it back.  he will homestead on it until you get mad enough, brave enough, faith-filled enough to go in and kick him out.  Get up and go over.

And take it back

A Prophetic Perspective of Present Day Global Events

Ezekiel 36 – 39

The Book was written while Ezekiel was exiled in Babylon (Iraq) approximately 600 years before Christ

His ministry extended over twenty-three years  595-573 B.C.

He was contemporary with Daniel and Jeremiah, and probably also with Obadiah.

His prophesies deal with:

The captivity of Israel and the destruction of Jerusalem

Judgment on other nations for their part in Israel’s sin and rebellion

1. In the Last Days Israel will be Re-Born

37:11  Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

37:12  Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

37:13  And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

37:14  And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

36:24  For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

2. In the Last Days Israel will be Restored

36:33  Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

36:34  And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

36:35  And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36:36  Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.  (and He has!)

3. In the Last Days Israel will be Re-United

37:15 ¶  The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

37:16  Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

37:17  And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

The Divided Kingdom (Judah and Israel) becomes One Kingdom in the End Time…

4. In the Last Days Israel will be Re-Gathered

37:21  And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

37:22  And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

5. In the Last Days Israel will be Invaded by Armies from the North

1 ¶  Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

2  And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

AND… “in the last days…”

Restored Israel will be Invaded by Gog and his army… (Eze 38)

38:14 ¶  Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

38:15  And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

38:16  And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

“Gog” is a person.  The “Chief Prince” of a group of nations.

“Magog” is an assembly of nations that will be led by Gog in the invasion of Israel in the last                                          days.

Magog, Meshech and Tubal were sons of Japheth (remember the sons of Noah and the “table of nations” in Gen 10?)  They are the ancestors of the people of northern Eurpope…  (the Russians, Muscovites, Cappadocians, etc)

Gog, in the land of Magog, the chief prince of (Rosh), Meshech, and Tubal, will invade the restored land of Israel from the North, with a powerful army of many nations. (38:1-9)

Their intention will be to plunder Israel, which will be dwelling in security. (38:10-16)

But when Gog and his army (from the north) invade Israel, they will be destroyed by the wrath and judgment of the Lord.

On the mountains of Israel Gog with all his hosts and nations will be destroyed by the wrath of God.

The inhabitants of the cities of Israel will spend seven years in burning the weapons of the fallen foe, and seven months in burying the corpses in a valley.

In the meantime all the birds and wild beasts will fill themselves with the flesh and blood of the fallen

What is the meaning of this?

This is a global conflict that will end this age.

This is a war that will be like no other war in all recorded history.

This will be a group of nations led by a “mad man” with the intent of destroying Israel and Israel’s God.

This battle will be the “mother of all battles” and will be won in an instant.

God will intervene and destroy Gog, Magog and all the nations set in array against Israel

This could well be the Biblical “Battle of Armageddon”… the Apocalypse

Gog and Magog may well be the antichrist and his gathered forces that will attempt to overthrow Israel and destroy Israel’s God

NOW… where are we in all of this??

At this moment in history, all eyes are on Israel and Iran.  They are in the vortex of an impending conflict.

BUT… The USA and Russia are also key players in this end-time scenario.

Iran is hell-bent on destroying Israel… and has publically declared that it will “wipe Israel off the map…”

Iran is driven by an Islamic Mad Man who believes it is his mission in life to create a world-destroying war in order to bring back the Islamic “messiah.”

In light of this… Israel is poised for an immediate pre-emptive strike to defend itself… and rightly so.

Ahmadinejad has vowed to wipe Israel off the face of the map.

He has asked Muslims to envision a world without the United States.

He believes that Israel is the Little Satan and the U.S. is the Great Satan.

He believes the end of the world is just a few years away and that it is his mission to bring it about.

Iran is developing its nuclear capability and could literally be weeks away from deploying missiles with atomic warheads.

Today, for the first time in two thousand years, we are seeing all these signs come true, and the rebirth of Israel is the most dramatic sign of them all. We can, therefore, have confidence that Jesus’ return is closer than ever. What’s more, we can be confident that our generation will not pass away before we see this remarkable event occur.  (Mat 24:24)

No other generation in history has been able to say that, but we now can. It is true that Jesus cautions us not to speculate on the exact day and hour of his return. But we are encouraged to watch current events closely and know when the clock is running out.

Word for Today:  October 5

Be strong and courageous.

Being strong is a decision you make.  You decide to be strong.  You decide to be weak.  You decide how you are going to be in life.  It is really up to you.  You do not wait to get strong… you “be strong!”  It is a choice and decision you make.

God is saying to us:  Be strong.  Don’t be weak.  Strong in faith.  Strong in the stand you take.  Strong in the Word.  Strong in your calling.  Paul commands us to “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might…”

You can be strong or you can be weak.  Strong is better!  Strong wards off hell.  Strong defeats the devil.  Strong believes the Truth.  Strong refuses the lie.  Strong never fears.  Strong stands!

Courageous is Alert, Steadfast, Established, Prevailing, Obstinate…  It is to be “on foot” and alert.  It means to be awake and not asleep. It means to be ready.

Do you have the courage to do something about your situation?  Do you have the courage to challenge hell over your family?  Your marriage?  Your finances?  Your health?  How much courage do you have?  God commands us to be courageous.  Courage is the opposite of fear.  It is boldness and assertiveness.  It is refusing to stand still and watch the devil devour your possessions.  It means to launch an attack!  It means to be aggressive.  It means to be offensive.  It means to run into the battle!

Do not look at the size of the enemy.

Look at the size of the prize

Word for Today:  October 5

Our main problem is a mind problem.

The mind tends to believe and act on what the senses tell it.  This is called “sense knowledge.”  When what we do is dictated by sense knowledge, we are living in and on the natural, carnal level.  The Word tells us that:

To be carnally minded is death, but to be Spiritually minded is Life and Peace… (Rom 8:6)

“Death” has many first cousins.  Worry is one.  Fear is another.  Then comes anxiety, dread, stress, unrest, sickness, poverty, bondage, terror, unstable marriages, messed up kids, fractured and broken relationships.

Death has many facets.  Sense knowledge invites death into our lives and hinders our Spirit from believing God.  This is why Paul tells us that it is important for us to “renew” our minds.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Rom 12:2

How you think and what you think determines who and what you are.

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:  Pro 23:7

What Revival Is

October 4, 2020

Because Revival is so relevant in this hour and is so much a part of God’s Grand Plan for the close of this age… I really want to know what Bible Revival is.  We have seen what it accomplishes.  What are the elements of real Revival?  What happens in real Revival?  What can we do to make the way for Revival?  This is what we will address today.

In the Word of God, which is our best reference book for revival, I have found a place where such a visitation occurred.  In this encounter with God, a nation was saved and God’s people were delivered.  Great joy came forth and God was exalted.  Let’s take a look at this historical event:  Nehemiah 8: 1-12.

Nehemiah was one of the Jewish captives Nebuchadnezzar had carried away into Babylon.  During the captivity, the holy city of Jerusalem was sacked.  It was plundered by the heathen and burned with fire.  The walls were breached and the gates were destroyed.  It had become a reproach to God.  Nehemiah’s heart was to return to Jerusalem, “the place of his father’s graves” and rebuild the walls, repair the gates and restore the city… this was his vision and dream.  The condition of Jerusalem at the hand of the heathen was much like the church of this century.  It needs Restoring.  It needs Rebuilding.  It needs Repairing.  It needs a Refreshing.  It has lost its former glory and has become a reproach to God.  It has been broken.  It has been depleted.  It has been powerless.  It has been barren.  It is in need of REVIVAL.

When Nehemiah completed the work of restoration, a gathering of the people (42,360, plus 7,337 men and maid servants, and 245 singing men and women… totaling nearly 50,000) was held and in this gathering, revival broke out.  Listen:

Neh. 8:1   And all the people gathered themselves together as one man  (UNITY)   into the street that was before the water gate;

Revival is Unity among the Body.  “Til we all come into the unity of the faith…”   Revival is a coming together.  Religion is divisive.  Doctrine is divisive.  Denomination is divisive.  Real Revival brings the elements of the Church together.  No walls of separation.  No barriers.  No divisions.  One in the Spirit.

The first thing the Holy Ghost did in us in the great Charismatic Revival of the ’60s was His destruction of the demonic spirit of prejudice.  Sectarianism.  Class distinction.  Not only did the Races come together, but the different social and educational and economic levels blended together as one.  This is Revival.  No class distinction.  No racial distinction.  No social distinction.  No distinction because of job, or money or what part of town people lived in.  No favorites because of race, age or gender.  HALLELUJAH.

Revival produces unity.  Love permeates.  Jesus is all that matters.  Everyone is loved and respected.  No one is left out.  All are included.

Revival destroys prejudice.  Revival brings unity.  Revival releases love and respect and esteem and consideration for all.

What about now?  What about here?  What about you?  What about me?  Take a look around you.  See the diversity of this congregation.  Praise God for Unity here at Life.

In Nehemiah’s day, the people “gathered themselves together as one man…”  No hate.  No hard feelings.  No grudges.  No rejection.  No cliques.   No “favorites.”  No gossip.  No backbiting.  No criticism.  No gripping.  No jealousy.  No covetousness.  No greed.  Skin color did not matter.  How much money they had or did not have didn’t matter.  Where they worked did not matter.  How much education they received did not matter.  How they dressed was not important.  They were One.  They were Together.  Revival produces Unity.  Revival is like a vacuum cleaner… it sucks everybody in.

…and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book  (RETURN TO THE WORD) of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.

Revival is a return to the Word.  “Bring the book of the Law of Moses…”  Bring the Book.  Revival is a return to the Book.  A coming back to the Bible.  When revival comes, the church begins to emphasize the Word of God.  Folk’s there is no substitute for the preaching, teaching and doing of the Word.

Our opinions don’t matter.  Our “interpretations” don’t matter.  Our man-made doctrines don’t matter.  The social inequities are not the subject matter of Revival preaching.  Pet theological positions are not the subject of Revival preaching.  Only the Word.  The Word comes alive.  It explodes with all its power and effectiveness.  It shatters all the silly, insignificant, shallow and intellectual preaching of dead churches and dead denominations.  It becomes the heart-cry of hungry souls.  It is indeed Bread for the Spirit.  It is Breath.  It is Life.  It is healing.  It is health.  It is the Foundation for all that we ask, think and do.  It is Precious.  It is Respected.  It is Valued.

So, there is Unity.  And then there is a Return to the Word.

Neh. 8:3   And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday,   (PATIENT)  before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

Revival is patience.   It wipes out a time-consciousness…  The interest and hunger for the Word surpasses physical limitations.  The desire to be caught up in the Presence of God becomes our priority.  When Revival comes, no one is in a hurry to get home.  Seeking God is more important than eating.  Seeking God is more important than getting through at a certain time.  Revival removes regimented schedules.  Priorities automatically come to the front.  They stood (did not sit) on the street (not in an air conditioned building) before the gate (outside, where the crowds passed by, not secluded in a safe and secure setting) from the morning (perhaps 5-6am) until midday (perhaps 12 noon – 1pm) or between 6 to 8 hours… both men and women… because they wanted to hear what God had to say.  When God speaks, something happens.  When something happens people will not be in a hurry to get home.  Revival causes men to wait until God gets through.  Often we get through before God does.  Sometimes we have already left for home, got home and turned the TV on when God is ready to really show up at church.  Revival produces patience.

Neh. 8:4   And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose;  (STRONG PULPIT) and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.

Revival is preachers preaching.  Not mouthing words or pampering people.  Not patronizing or petting but preaching.  Not comforting the afflicted but afflicting the comfortable.  Not making friends and influencing people, but preaching… Preaching that is strong.  Preaching that is anointed by the Fire of the Holy Ghost.  Preaching that changes lives, impacts communities and effects nations.  Preaching.  Preaching that is pointed.  Preaching that is plain.  Preaching that is bold and courageous.  Calling sin sin and sinners sinners.  Sounding the alarm.  Standing in the gate.  Watching on the wall.  Declaring the whole counsel of God.

The world needs preaching.  Bible preaching by bold Bible preachers.  Preachers who are called and chosen.  Anointed and appointed.  Preaching has changed things and preaching will change things.  It has brought down kings and kingdoms.  It has built up nations and stopped wars.  Preaching has done what legislation and political lobbying has never been able to accomplish.  One Holy Ghost Sermon can do more than the Supreme Court.  More than the White House.  More than the United Nations.  More than all the armies and navies and ships and airplanes and missiles in the world.  God is in Bible preaching.  When God shows up Heaven comes down.  When Heaven comes down hell has to go.

I am convinced that the lack of Strong Preaching by strong preachers is the major cause of the moral erosion we are experiencing right now.  No one has challenged Hollywood.  No one has challenged the gambling crowd… the gangs… the drug dealers…. the pimps and prostitutes.  Crooked politicians.  Crooked judges.  Crooked cops.  We need preachers like the prophet Nathan who pointed his finger in king David’s face and announced:  “Thou art the man!”

We need some Elijah’s who will challenge hell and call Fire down from heaven.  We need some John the Baptist’s who will step on the nation’s stage and declare: “Repent… for the Kingdom of God is at hand…”  The trash that is published and printed and the movies and TV programs cranked out by ungodly, uncaring, unspiritual moguls in the entertainment industry has flourished because weak preachers in weak pulpits have stood strangely silent.  They address social issues.  They strain at gnats and swallow camels.  They preach sugary sermons with no substance.  They lecture and entertain and deal with worthless philosophies.  Congregations must demand strong preaching.  Strong preaching builds strong churches.  Strong pulpits forge strong moral foundations.  God give us preachers.  God give us uncompromising pulpits.  God give us men who will not be silent in the face of rampaging evil and wickedness.  Revival is strong preaching.

Neh. 8:5   And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:

Neh. 8:6   And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground.  (PARTICIPATION)

Revival is participation.  Revival demands response.  Revival moves men.  Revival causes reaction.  In Nehemiah’s day the people joined in… they shouted the lifted their hands they bowed their heads and they worshipped God.  Church must never be a one-man show.  Or a two man show… or an any man show.  Saints must never assemble themselves to be entertained.  There is an electric stream that flows in Revival.  It flows from the pulpit to the pew.  It causes men and women and young people to respond.  It is emotional.  It is moving.  It is orderly but it is free.  When the Holy Ghost moves, people move.  They cannot be silent.  They cannot be still.  They cannot be sedate.  They must participate.

There is Interaction.  Revival is a Holy Ghost orchestration of the Message of the Gospel of Christ.  It is thrilling.  It is touching.  It produces genuine interaction between each member of the Body and the Preacher preaching the Word.

The days of dead, lifeless lectures are over.  The services where everybody has to be still and quiet are past.  Do you remember those?  Church as it was is not Church as it is today.  There is life.  There is participation.  There is interaction.  And rightly so…. this is the way it was and it is indicative of Revival.   Organized, controlled, structured and scheduled meetings may be religious, but they are not Spiritual and they are not Revival.  You were there.  You remember them.  You dreaded to go.  Dreaded to get there.  Dreaded every part of it.  The most joyful part of the meeting was the benediction.  Dead members.  Dead choir.  Dead music.  Dead ushers.  Dead announcements.  Dead sawdust preaching.  Dead praying.  Dead.  Dead.  Dead.  Come dead.  Arrive dead. Leave dead.  Stay dead.   NO MORE.  Revival is participation.  Revival is excitement.  Revival is noise.  Revival is life.

Neh. 8:7   Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.

Revival is commitment.  The people STOOD.  And they STOOD IN THEIR PLACE.  They were not running all over the place looking for something else.  They were committed.  They were determined.  They were resolved.  Revival causes men to stick with it.  To go on with God… no matter what.  Revival does away with the need for constant “rededication” because Revival produces constant dedication and commitment.    Revival is more than a spiritual flash in the pan.  We are in a time where most people treat their church relationship like a supermarket or a shopping mall or sale catalogue.   Who has the best show?  Who has more for me?  Who is the most convenient?  Where can I get the best deal?  Revival locks men in.  It brings focus to their spiritual relationship.  It zeros in on the important and the eternal.  Revival does away with carnal opinions and personal preferences (I don’t like the music… I don’t like the deacons… I don’t like the way the preacher preaches…. I don’t like the color of the carpet… I don’t like the way they run things…  If they don’t change I’m going to leave… etc.).

Revival removes the challenge to always have something bigger and better next time.  Revival does not depend on what we do or how we do it or what we think… Revival transcends human effort and brings men face to face with the Living Eternal God.  And it produces Faithfulness.  Commitment.  Dedication.  Steadfastness.

1Cor. 15:58   Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Neh. 8:9   And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep.  (TIME OF GLADNESS) For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. .

Neh.8:10…..for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Revival is celebration.  It is a time of great gladness.  Revival removes mourning, sadness, heaviness and depression.  It releases the desire for celebration.  It is loud.  It is noisy.  It is joyful.  One of the greatest evidences of Revival is Joy.  Gladness.  Lightness of heart.  Exuberance.  It is a reckless abandonment to praise and worship God with the whole man… spirit, soul and body.  This celebration involves every facet of the total man.  His spirit is alive with the life of God.  His mind is fixed on the glory and beauty and grace and goodness of God.  His body is released to express joy and thanksgiving through lifting up of hands, through praising with the tongue and voice… through leaping and dancing for joy.  This is revival.  Revival is Visible.  Revival is Audible.  Revival is Emotional.

Neh. 8:10   Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared:   (PROSPERITY AND GIVING)

Revival is Prosperity.  Revival is productive.  It produces a harvest.  We normally think in terms of a harvest of souls… and this is so… Revival always results in many being Born Again.  But revival is more than the salvation of the lost.  Revival is also the time of increase and multiplication and addition… it is a time of great prosperity.  This was the case in Nehemiah’s day.  It is the case today.  Revival produces resources… increased income… greater opportunities to seed and sow into Kingdom Projects.  Revival makes the Body of Christ rich… rich in money… rich in resources… rich in abilities… rich in opportunities to reach the World with the Word.  Revival will be the method God uses to channel the wealth of the wicked into the bosoms of the just.  Folks, the time is near when the Church will call the shots in Banking circles, on Wall Street, and the major financial markets of the entire world.  The church will become the lender and the world will become the borrower.  Then the world will be the servant to the Church.

Prov. 22:7   The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Do you understand what Revival is?  It is Unity. It is Word-Centered. It is Patience.  It is Strong preaching by strong preachers. It is Participation.  It is Commitment.  It is Celebration. It is Prosperity. It is A RETURN TO GOD.

Do you want revival?  Do you want it now?  Will you receive it today?

“Dear Jesus, I want to come back to You.  I long for a close and intimate walk with You.  I want to really Know You and the Power of your Resurrection and the fellowship of your sufferings.  I REMEMBER how it was when I first got Saved and when I first received the Baptism in the Holy Ghost.  I REPENT for my waywardness and my backslidding and my sin and my indifference.  I make a DECISION RIGHT NOW to RETURN to my First Love…. Jesus, You are all that matters.  I come to you right now… take me back and forgive me for my sin and coldness.  I really Love You, Jesus.  Thank You for restoring the Joy of My Salvation…      Amen.”

Right Choices

Those who make right choices will succeed and live and those who make wrong choices will fail and die.

Every success is the result of making right choices and every failure is the result of making wrong choices.

God has given us help and direction in making right choices.  He has not thrown us out in the water and left us to swim or drown.  He has not cast us aside with no means of help or direction.  God has given us assistance through:

  • The Word of God
  • The Church
  • The Holy Spirit
  • The Five-fold Ministry Gifts (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers)
  • Revelation Knowledge
  • The Gifts of the Spirit
  • The re-born human spirit directed by the Holy Spirit

Everybody is involved in choice making.  All of us.

Every day we make hundreds of choices.  Every single choice we make will produce good or bad, help or hindrance, life or death.   God’s Word tells us to Choose Life.

If we do we live.  If we don’t we won’t.

Word for Today:  October 3

Here are some Lies that many Believers have bought into:

  • It’s a lie that you are a victim of circumstances.
  • It’s a lie that you are helpless and can do nothing about your situation. (According to the Word is no such thing as “I can’t help it.”)
  • It’s a lie that you are locked into impossibilities and hopeless conditions.
  • It is a lie that “things will never change.”
  • It’s a lie that you must be miserable, sad, depressed and defeated most of your life.
  • It’s a lie that you must stay sick.
  • It’s a lie that you must continually live in lack and need.

Word for Today:  October 2

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh…Gal 5:16.

Right living is a decision.  People choose the way they live.  They can determine what they do, what they say and what they yield to.  The devil has no power to make anyone sin.  Sin and sinful living are the results of decisions and choices that are made.

No temptation is irresistible.  No trial is too much or too great or without a way of escape for the Believer. (1Cor 10:13)  The bottom line is the quality of life you are now living is the direct result of decisions you have made.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace…     Rom 8:5-6

In this hour of compromise and moral failure, decide to live right.  Decide to resist the wrong and embrace that which is good, honorable and right.

It takes no courage to get drunk or smoke dope or pop pills or shoot up.  It takes no talent to be mean, ugly and violent.  But it takes old fashioned backbone and intestinal fortitude to resist the temptations of the flesh and to stand for God and what’s right.

If you want to live and not die… choose to live and choose to live right.   Walk in holiness, purity, honor and integrity.  Determine to present your body to God as a living sacrifice.  (Rom 212:1)   Refuse to hang out with so those who tempt you and lure you do stuff you know is not in the will of God.

Walk in the Spirit.

And you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh

Word for Today:  October 1

The Power of death and the Power of life is in your tongue.

The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart; that is the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…  Rom 10:8-9

It matters how you talk.  Choose to “speak the Word only” and speak only what the Word declares.    Confess what God says and not what you feel or how you feel or what others think.

  • Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth… Pro 6:2
  • The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life… Pro 10:11
  • A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth… Pro 12:14
  • A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth…. he that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life… Pro 13:3
  • A wholesome tongue is a tree of life… Pro 15:4
  • A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth… Pro 15:23
  • A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.Pro 18:7
  • A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue…  (Pro 18:20-21).

Words kill or words give life.  Words bring success or words cause failure.  Words initiate healing.  Words make things start or cause things to stop.  Words are carriers.  They bring stuff in and they carry stuff out.

What you say is important.  Your words will imprison you or set you free.

What you say is what you get
