Called of God.

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. Judg. 6:12

I’m quite sure that Gideon did not feel like a mighty man of valor.  He had been hiding out behind the barn to thresh the wheat so the Midianites could not see him.  He was nervous.  He was afraid.  He was uncertain.  He had no confidence in himself.  He was intimidated by the enemy.  Yet, God calls him a “Mighty man of valor.”

This is what God calls you.  He calls you what you are… not what you feel like you are.  You may be hiding behind the barn, but He sees you with a Fire in your heart and a Sword in your hand

There is no lottery program in the Call of God.    The call is direct and personal and based on something God sees within the person He is calling.   He sees in you possibility.  He sees in you capability.  God sees in you potential.  He sees your Heart and He knows what kind of a heart you have.

You may not “feel” like a Mighty Warrior.  You may not look like a threat to hell and the devil.  You may not think you are More than a Conqueror, but that is what God sees in you and that is what God calls you.  And that is precisely what you are.

We want to discover what really happened at Calvary.

We have read about the Crucifixion, heard sermons on the Crucifixion, studied about the Crucifixion, but in reality very few know and understand what happen on the Cross.  What we believe about the Cross will determine the depth of our Revelation of Jesus.

Justice had decreed that sinful man must pay the penalty for his transgression.  The Human Race stood guilty before God of Spiritual High Treason.  Man had turned away from God and embraced the devil.  However, the human race was impotent, helpless and incapable of meeting the demands of justice.

“I owed a debt I could not pay,

He paid a Price He did not owe,

I needed Someone just to wash my sins away,

And now I sing a brand new song:  Amazing Grace!

Christ Jesus paid the Price that I could never pay…”

And so out of the Heart of God comes the solution to the human problem.  Jesus steps forward and declares:  “Here am I, send Me…”  And so toward the Cross He goes.

Calvary is center stage for the entire human race.  What happened there is the pivotal point of all history.  Calvary is more than the death of Jesus at the hand of His enemies.  Calvary is more than the suffering and horror of such inhumanity and torture.

  • Calvary involves Jesus and it involves God.
  • It involves man and it involves sin.
  • It involves time and it involves eternity.
  • It is the place of a divine Exchange

Here, Jesus became what man is in order than man can become what Jesus is.

“God made Him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him…”  II Cor. 5:21

Faith’s potential.

What you do with your faith determines what happens to your faith.  If you use it, it increases.  If you don’t use it, it decreases.  Use it or lose it.   Faith demands action.  Faith demands risk.

Faith is a creative Force.  The Faith of God is the Force behind all creation.  Faith is a “first-order” force.  God is a Faith God.  We are commanded to have the “God-kind” of Faith.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Mark 11:22

“Have the Faith of God.”  You have the same kind of Faith God has.  Faith is a Divine Attribute of God.  When you and I got Born Again, we received an impartation of the very Nature and Character of God into our Recreated Human Spirit.  When we were Regenerated, we were “RE-GENED…”  God Supernaturally changed and altered the Genetic Mapping of our human nature.  He “imputed” His Faith into us.  NOW… we have the Faith of God.

Just as you received certain biological and genetic characteristics from your earthly parents at the time of your physical birth, your also received certain Spiritual and Supernatural characteristics from your Heavenly Father at the time of your Spiritual Birth.  You look like your parents.  You have personal and emotional characteristics like your parents.  The color of your eyes.  The color of your hair.  Your physical size.  The way you walk.  The way are physically built.  Your size.

All these were built into you… mapped by the genetic structures of your parents… and passed on to you at the time of your physical birth.  If all these intricate and miraculous physical attributes were placed in you when you were born, what about the wonderful supernatural characteristics that were imputed into your recreated human spirit at the time of your Spiritual Birth…  When you were Born Again?

If the faith of God is behind all creation, (and it most certainly is) and if you and I have the same kind of faith, (and we most certainly do) then we have access to the most awesome force known in the universe.

That is a Spiritual Reality

All things are possible to him that believeth…  Mk 9:23

Can you believe?

Isaiah had a problem.  He discovered some things in the realm of the Spirit that were just too good to believe.  His problem was to convince his contemporaries to believe the Report that God had given to him.  He cried out in frustration:  “Who hath believed our report?”  (Isa. 53:1)

The Gospel is Good News.   Not bad new, sad news, but Good News and Glad News…

  • The Gospel is POSITIVE and not negative.
  • The Gospel is LIFE and not death.
  • The Gospel is HEALTH and not sickness.
  • The Gospel is SUCCESS and not failure.
  • The Gospel is PROSPERITY and not poverty.
  • The Gospel is LIBERTY and not bondage.
  • The Gospel is OPPORTUNITY and not restraint. It is an open door and not a closed door.
  • The Gospel is the WAY. The WAY OUT, the WAY UP, the WAY THROUGH and the WAY OVER.

Many in the Body of Christ are walking in defeat and despair and darkness because they will not “believe our report”…  They simply think it’s “too good to be true…”   But it is good and it is true!

So Believe our report…

  • Our sins are forgiven.
  • We have strength and power to live right and do right.
  • We are delivered out of satan’s dominion.
  • We are seated with Christ “in the heavenlies.”
  • We have the Nature of God our Father.
  • We have authority to use His Name.
  • We are in possession of Eternal Life.
  • We will live and never die.

Can you believe this?

The Flight Plan

August 9, 2022

Jer 29:11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  (Destination)

Jer 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you”–/this is/ the LORD’s declaration–“plans for /your/ welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Holman’s Christian Standard Version)

We all have a Divine Destiny.  A High and Holy Calling.  An Election.  We are the Chosen.  We have been selected and elected.  We are to be God’s Hope and God’s Dream for the Now and Future.     Understand that God has His Heart Set on us. He has a Plan and wants us to stick with it to our Destination so we will have Hope and Expectation for every day of our life.

I have been Blessed to hold a Private Pilot’s certificate for more than half a century.  I’ve actually lost count of actual hours flown as pilot in command… but it’s a lot.  It has required me to fly several diverse types of aircraft… from those you had to hand crank by spinning the prop to complex high-performance planes equipped to fly by instruments only.  To attain my license was a dream I had from my boyhood days.  It was a challenging goal and a rewarding accomplishment.  My experience as a pilot has taught me some important Life Lessons that have some powerful Spiritual Applications.  Today, I’d like for us to consider some of them…

In flying, there are stringent FAA air traffic rules to which every pilot must adhere.   They are designed for safety in flight and a certainty for a safe arrival at our destination.   In life, there are likewise, some stringent rules that, if not adhered to, will result in failure to reach God’s Purpose and Plan… His Expected End for us.

Plotting your course… filing a flight plan

Every successful flight begins with planning and preparation and the careful execution of that plan.

The moment you take off, you begin planning on and expecting your safe landing at your destination.

  1. When plotting a course, it is always suggested that the pilot in command file a Flight Plan.  A Flight Plan is a prescribed course of flight from the point of departure to the destination that is filed.  It is normally  communicated by phone or radio to air traffic control to insure they know specific details concerning the flight that is planned.
  • Filing that plan is recorded and tracked by radar from the time of take off to the time we land.  Traffic Control wants to know who you are and where you are going and the prescribed route that will take you there.
  • A flight plan provides a great measure of Confidence for the pilot and passengers for safety, a sense of security, and a successful, uneventful, completed flight.    Here are some of the specific details of the Flight Plan:
  • Aircraft Identification:  the “N number” of the plane
    • Aircraft Type: what kind of plane it is single or multi engine, land or sea
    • Aircraft color
    • True Airspeed:  The speed you will be flying in route
    • Departure Point: The airport from which you are departing
    • Exact Departure Time
    • Cruising Altitude:  How high your intend to fly
    • Route of Flight: specific direction including check points and intentions
    • Destination: The airport at which you intend to land at the conclusion of the flight
    • Hours and minutes in flight:  How long (ETA) it will take to get to your destination
    • Hours of Fuel on board: fuel burn calculated by how many gallons per hour
    • Alternate airports:  Places planned to land if weather conditions are not acceptable at the destination
    • Number of souls on board
    • Pilots Name, address, and home base and type of certificate held

If Air Traffic control is this interested in tracking you safely to your destination (as well as being immediately informed of any problem in flight) …  so much MORE must God’s Plan for your LIFE, from inception to conclusion, from take-off to landing… be on HIS DESK and in HIS HAND as you make your Life Journey.

God has a PLAN, a “flight plan”  for you

Following this Plan will guarantee a safe and secure life flight that will lead to God’s intended destination.    And it will safeguard your welfare and give you Hope and Expectation for a Successful Future.

You will need to get on Course and Stay on course. He has a Plan for you and wants you stay the course so you will have Hope and Expectation for every day of your life.

So what about this Life Flight Plan?

I encourage you to be confident of your skill level and seek to get better at it.  Just as a pilot needs to continue to train and practice to make him a better pilot.  Your confidence in your Place in God will enhance your safety and security.   The presence and power of the Holy Spirit will be your Autopilot and assure you of a safe and successful passage in Life.

Details of the flight are important…

  • Focus to Stay on course… all the time.   Getting Off course one degree will result in being off course more than ten miles in just a matter of minutes.  Don’t get off God’s Course for you.
  • In flying, Weather is a major factor.  Storms do often get in your flight path.  To avoid them is critical.  But in an emergency it is comforting to be able to radio ground personnel and get their assistance. So stay in Touch with God.  Trust His advice. Listen to His Voice.
  • Maintaining altitude is important… it will guarantee your successful flight over any dangerous terrain or obstructions in your flight path.  Get on The Step (your cruising altitude) and be sure you stay there.  Don’t lose altitude!
  • Constant attention to flight conditions is vital.  Watch the gauges.  Be sure of fuel burn.  Check the compass.  Look for any anomalies that could be an indication of approaching trouble.  Be alert and Be prepared.  Always have an emergency landing place in sight.  Just in case.  In Life… BE READY.  Be Prepared.  Be Alert to any possible danger.
  • The take-off is the most hazardous few minutes of flight.  The beginning is always the most dangerous and requires our most diligent attention.

Often when departing on a flight, as we begin our climb to a cruising altitude, we will encounter a low cloud cover.  As we continue climbing and enter the clouds, we lose sight of all visible reference points and must trust our flight instruments to continue to stay on course.  Then there’s the turbulence.  The shaking.  The uncomfortable feeling that things just might get out of control.  So we must make up our mind to continue to climb.  Weare not certain just how “thick” the cloud layer may be but we press on.  We add power.  We keep the stick pulled back.

Then, suddenly, we break out of our blindness and burst into the brilliance of a Bright Shining Sun and a clear deep blue sky…. With Unlimited Visibility on all quadrants of the compass… and a glorious peace and confidence that all is well…. All because we made up our mind to continue to climb…

This is especially significant for a Flawless Spiritual Take-Off and a Successful Course into the Will of God… for you and your future.

There will be, no doubt, some turbulence and limited visibility on the way to your destination.  So my advice to you is

Make up your Mind to Continue to Climb

Jesus Paid it All

The devil and all demon powers are dethroned and defeated.  At the fall of Adam, satan gained control and dominion over all the earth.  At the Resurrection of Jesus,  satan was factually and actually dethroned and defeated.   he was and stripped of all his power and all his authority.

The Resurrection of Jesus was and is the final proof of satan’s downfall and defeat.  Sickness, sin, defeat, sorrow, death, sadness are all forever conquered.  We (Believers) have been redeemed from satan’s dominion and we have legally become the masters of satan and all his demons.  You have power over the devil because Jesus rose from the dead.  You can cast out devils. You can heal the sick.  You can call things that are not as though they are.  You can overcome poverty and distress and pain and need.  Because Jesus is alive… you are filled with Resurrection Life.

There will be no judgment for us like it was for Jesus.  God will not forsake us.   For us there will be no Cross… no crown of thorns… no separation from God… no suffering in hell… no guilt and no condemnation.

Jesus paid it all

All to Him I owe…Sin had left a crimson stain…He washed it white as snow

Continuing in victory.

Continuing in victory depends on continuing in the Word.  What you do with the Word determines what the Word will do for you.  How you Work the Word determines what and how the Word will work for you.  Giving the Word first place in your life and making the Word your Instruction Manual is extremely important. You need to learn the Word.  Study the Word.  Know the Word.  Meditate the Word. Speak the Word.  Pray the Word.  Believe the Word.  And, most importantly, Do the Word.

When you get full of the Word, no matter what shakes you, only the Word will come out.  If a glass is full of only water, no matter how badly it’s shaken, nothing but water will come out.   When you are full of the Word, no matter how bad your circumstances may be, nothing but the Word will come out.

Hide the Word in your heart and plant it in your spirit.  Think it and meditate it.  Never turn away from it.  Keep it before your eyes night and day.  Treasure it.  Love it and honor it.  Obey it.  See it as your Source.  It is food for your spirit and protection for your body and healing for your bones…  GET INTO THE WORD and GET THE WORD INTO YOU.

An Unfailing Anchor.

God’s Word is an Anchor that holds (Heb 6:19).   It is as reliable as God is.  It is as strong as God is.  It is as enduring as God is.  It is as changeless as God is.

The Word proved to be an unfailing Anchor in the lives and experiences of many of the Heroes we read about in the Bible.  It held steady in times of trials and impossibilities.  It gave them security in the times of storms and conflicts.  The Word was an anchor in them that held them secure in the Hand of God.

  • The Word in Moses produced Israel’s deliverance from Egypt.
  • The Word in Joshua drove out the enemy and produced victory in the Promised Land.
  • The Word in David gave him strength in the time of temptation and victory in the time of attack. The result was and is the matchless beauty of Worship and Praise in the Book of Psalms.
  • The Word in Elijah produced water in the season of drought.
  • The Word in Joseph sustained him in prison, delivered him from lies and brought him great favor and promotion as the Prime Minister of Egypt.
  • The Word in Job kept him faithful to God in his loss of everything he loved and treasured.
  • The Word in Elisha raised the Shunammite’s son from the dead, caused the axe head to swim and cleansed numerous lepers.
  • The Word in Daniel stopped the mouths of hungry lions.
  • The Word in Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, cooled the fiery furnace and brought the Son of God from heaven to comfort them.
  • The Word in John the Baptist caused him to launch Jesus into His public ministry.
  • The Word in Peter gave him power to walk on water.
  • The Word in Paul saw him through ship wrecks, stonings, scourgings, imprisonments, rejections and betrayals and produced most of the New Testament.
  • The Word in John gave him a glimpse of the Rapture, the Return of Jesus and the Eternal Perfect State of those who are washed in the Blood.

The Word held them steady in the face of every impossibility.

The Word will hold you in every adversity and trial.

It is our Anchor.

It never fails
