                                Overcoming Anxiety

December 19, 2022

Matthew 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you

Kingdom: A realm of Authority and Power.  Rulership.  Dominion.

Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing…  NKJV

Worry, fear, anxiety, stress, frustration, disappointment, disillusion… Emotional overload… Drama….  all these slander and contradict every promise in the Word of God.  They are outside the Will of God for you.

Notice Jesus is dealing with things that causes all the above.  The crux of the matter.  He is talking about Survival.  Living.  And He knows the Worries and fears we face in life and our anxiety about the future…

  • What will I have to eat and drink today?
  • What will I have to wear tomorrow?  And the days ahead?
  • How can I survive at this present time?  When I have nothing stored up?
  • What will I do for shelter and protection?
  • Who will take care of me?
  • What if?……

So… we need some instruction about how to do this.  How we can overcome worry.  And fear.  And anxiety.  And have assurance that God will take care of us.

The answer is in the Word and, in fact, is in these words spoken by Jesus Himself.

  • Seek (look for) and Find the Kingdom of God.

But seek (zeteo: to look for with the purpose of finding) ye first the kingdom of God,

And Jesus says that this is the FIRST thing we should do.  It becomes our priority.  Our passion.  Our driving force.  Looking for the Kingdom.  Discovering where the Kingdom is.

In order to overcome anxiety…  (1) Look for the Kingdom.  (2) Find the Kingdom.  (3) Learn how the Kingdom works.  (4) And then, incorporate Kingdom Principles in everyday living.

And when we succeed in doing this, “All these things (basic living needs) shall be added unto you.” (Mat 6:33).

When the Kingdom operates in you as God intends for it to, then the Will of God will be done for you.  When the Will of God is done for you…   you will be delivered from all worry, fear, anxiety, and stress.

Now let’s find the Kingdom.  The Word tells us where it is.  Jesus tells us exactly where it is located.

  • Discover WHERE IT IS

The Kingdom of God is in YOU.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within (entos: inside) you.  (that is why it can’t be seen, or “observed” it is invisible because it inside every believer)

2 Cor 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

God has deposited a TREASURE inside of your human body.  That TREASURE is the Kingdom of God.

  • Your Body has become GOD’S HEADQUARTERS.  (His Office, and He is always “in”)
  • Your Mind becomes God’s Operating System.
  • Your Spirit becomes the Controller and Director of your flesh.

According to the Word, all of Heaven’s Resources are INSIDE the BELIEVER.  Everything God has and all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Per 1:3) is already inside of the Believer in SEED FORM.  Heaven’s Storehouse is right inside of you… Remember “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”   Where is Christ?  In you.  Where is His Glory?  In you.   What does He possess and what has He given us?  (All things that pertain to life and godliness) They are in you.   They are in you NOW (regardless of outward circumstances or pre-existing problems.  The Answer to ALL THINGS is inside of you and me.

  •  Learn HOW IT WORKS

The Kingdom of God works by and through FAITH… (and Not by facts)

It is Supernatural.  It is Eternal.  It functions by Faith and not by Facts. Facts are natural and temporal.  Faith is Supernatural and Eternal.  And it is Faith that pleases the Father (without faith you cannot please God) because GIVING to you is the very thing that pleases God.  (“It’s your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom…”  Lk 12:32) and getting what He has Given you is received only through FAITH.  Jesus prayed, “Thy Kingdom Come thy Will be done in earth as it is in heaven…” (Matt 6:10).  Faith become the door into the resources of the Kingdom of God.

  •  The KINGDOM has KEYS

Mt 16:19   And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Keys are for binding and for loosing.  For shutting and for opening.  For stopping and for starting.  They are the scepter of authority for every Believer.

When Jesus conceptualized and prophesied the Church in Matthew 16: 18-19, He gave all the keys to it.

What you do with the Keys determines what HAPPENS to YOU on EARTH.

  • The KINGDOM is DESIGNED to OPERATE on EARTH

It is NOT reserved for us just for when we get to heaven. It is on earth that we need the THINGS OF GOD… the POWER of GOD… the AUTHORITY of GOD… the ABILITY of GOD… the GIFTS of the HOLY SPIRIT… the KINGDOM works through the Church (the Body of Christ).  We are GOD’S FAMILY, and we are called and commissioned to live heaven’s life here on earth in the very midst of a “crooked and perverse” generation…

  • WHATEVER you NEED can be FOUND in the KINGDOM

And the KINGDOM IS IN YOU.  We do not wait for blessings to “fall from heaven” on us.  “The Glory of the Lord is Risen upon you” (Isa 60) “THE KINGDOM of HEAVEN SUFFERETH VIOLENCE” (religion will pervert the truth and purity of it).  Religion and the organized church have done violence to the kingdom for years.  “AND THE VIOLENT (forceful, determined, strong) TAKE IT BY FORCE…” (Matt 11:12)

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19

Receive a Revelation of this Truth and you will be enabled to overcome every obstacle you will ever face and defeat every demon you ever encounter.

Will YOU RECEIVE IT??

You were born with a Purpose and brought into the Kingdom for a Purpose.

You are alive today for a Purpose.  You are where you are for a Purpose.  You can know it and rejoice in it BECAUSE IT IS GOOD.  It is better than you can imagine (Jer 29:11). When you discover God’s Purpose you can purpose to do the same things God does.   It places you in agreement with God.  When you are in agreement with God you are in disagreement with the devil, the powers of darkness and every force of evil.

When your purpose is the same as God’s purpose you have the POWER OF HEAVEN working with you.

You are, in effect, walking with God.  When you walk with God you are in agreement with Him and when you are in agreement with Him you can “ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you.”   Joh 15:7

This keeps you in the place of authority and power and control.  It gives you strength to do what needs to be done.  It guarantees your control over every “situation” and “circumstance.” This is exactly what Paul meant when he said:  “now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us.”  Eph 3:20

The “power that worketh in us” is the Power of Heaven that is released when you walk in agreement with the Purpose God has designed for you.

It’s a fail-safe thing

God’s Will is for every human being to be saved.

God wants the entire human race to be birthed into His family.  God wants every man, woman, boy and girl to be SAVED.   POTENTIALLY the entire human race (both born and unborn) was redeemed from sin when Jesus Completed His Redemptive Work on the Cross.

What is involved in salvation?  God has a part and man has a part.  God’s part is called REGENERATION and man’s part is called REPENTANCE and FAITH.  When we repent of our sin and believe in our heart that Jesus is Messiah and when we openly and unashamedly confess our heart-belief, we are BORN AGAIN (Rom 10:9).

At that One Magnificent Moment, God impregnates us (natural man) with His Life, and we are made a New Creation (Supernatural and God-Birthed).  God’s Life comes into us along with all of God’s Characteristics and we become the Sons of God…  But as many as received Him to them gave He power to become the Sons of God…  John 1:12.

God’s Life comes into us, God’s Power comes into us, God’s Authority comes into us, God’s Love comes into us, God’s Faith comes into us, God’s Very Nature comes into us…. We are made (Re-created) “in the image” of God.

And we are conformed to the Image of Jesus Christ, God’s First-Begotten.   (Rom 8:29)

Hallelujah

One Factor.

There is only one factor that gives credibility to any legitimate ministry.    There is only one factor that guarantees the success of Kingdom work.  There is only one factor that makes preachers really preach and churches really produce lasting results.  Effectiveness and productiveness are not the result of man’s effort, ingenuity or education.   Success is not correctly measured by size.  Bigger is not always better.   And smarter is not always wiser.   Breadth is never as important as depth.

In Kingdom Ministry it is the Anointing that produces results.  Without the anointing all our efforts are but sounding brass and tinkling symbols.  Where there is no anointing, there is no Life.  It is the anointing that breaks the yoke and sets the captive free.  It is the anointing that brings revelation and produces conviction.  It is the anointing that moves the heart and rends the soul.

With all our getting, preachers, let us be certain we get unction.  Education is good, but it can never substitute for anointing.   Personality and popularity and acclaim are good, but they can never accomplish what the anointing can accomplish.  The coming Millennial Kingdom will operate in limitless anointing.  This anointing will change nations and kindreds and peoples and tongues.  The anointing will bring glory to God and honor to Jesus.

In all the years of ministry, I’m not so sure as to exactly what the anointing really is, or how to adequately explain it, but I can surely tell when I haven’t got it.  And so can you.

  • The anointing gives credibility to ministry.
  • The anointing eradicates human limitation.
  • The anointing speaks the truth.
  • The anointing breaks the stronghold of the enemy.
  • The anointing ignites the hearts of complacent Christians and impregnates the barren church to produce children.

We must have the anointing

God chose you.

According as He hath chosen us in Him, before the foundation of the world… having predestinated (foreordained) us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself according to the good pleasure of His Will… Eph. 1:4-5

God chose you and called you.  You are a special Selection of the Father.  He brought you into the world in this narrow corridor of time to provide you with the very best.  You are blessed.  You are chosen.  You are called.  You are favored.  God carefully orchestrated gene pool of your ancestors to produce in you the very talents and abilities that are necessary for you to be effective and victorious in the Things of God.  You are important.  You are unique.  You are special.  You are one of a kind.

God not only chose you but He also called you.  You have a calling on your life.  You have a purpose and a ministry to fulfill.  No one else can do it.  If you do not do it, it will not get done.  Every New Creation individual is called to produce and bear fruit.  To Reproduce.  To Multiply.  To Expand and Extend the Kingdom of God.

Never forget…

You are Significant

The resurrection of a dead dog

December 17, 2022

I have been preaching for over 64 years and one of the most significant miracles I ever witnessed was the resurrection of a dead dog.

God turned an apparent tragedy into a triumph when a dog my little boys loved got hit by a speeding automobile.    A beautiful German Shepherd named “Prince,” was a loving companion to my small boys but one day, in the presence of the boys, he was crushed under the wheels of a passing car.

They cried and called for me to get him off the road where he lay.  When I arrived, the sight was not pretty.  He was bloody, his legs were askew, and he was lifeless.  As the boys stood by me, I told them I would have to take Prince to the back yard and bury him.

Then one of them said “Daddy, why don’t you pray for him?”  An impossible situation.  How can I do this?  What will I tell them when I have to put Prince in the ground?  But I did.  I prayed.  But they had much more faith than I did.  I took the lifeless body and put it on the porch right by the front door and told the boys to go inside and get ready for bed (this happened late in the day).  I planned on burying Prince when the kids were asleep.

When they were all tucked in for the night I reluctantly went back to the porch where Prince lay.  Do you know, when I opened the door that dead dog jumped straight up from where he lay and walked over to me and began licking my hand.  I was startled.  Dumbfounded.  And overwhelmed at the power of prayers prayed by little boys.  I ran inside, got them to come and see the Miracle of Prince.  And the ONE who makes the Impossible Possible proved once again with another Miracle that HE is our Almighty and All-Powerful God.

I put the shovel up and gave Prince a big serving of fresh ground hamburger

Believe

  • If you can believe, all things will be possible for you and nothing will ever be impossible to you.
  • If you can believe, you can move into the realm of the miraculous.
  • If you can believe you can change your life, your situation, your circumstances and your destiny.

Believing is the key to the impossible.  Believing is the secret to success.  Believing is the way into heaven.  Believing is the way man connects with God.  Jesus said that if we can believe all things will be possible to us (Mark 9:23).

The Bible says that if without Believing it is impossible to please God.   Believing is the way to please God and the way to tap into the supernatural power of God.  Believing is the most powerful force on earth.

Your believing can change things around you and make them line up with your will and the will of God.  Nothing you can do as a Christian is more important than Believing.

Believing can change our nation.  Believing can produce miracles.  Believing can bring God into your situation and solve all your problems.  Believing is life-changing.

Believing changes death into LIFE

There is more.

There is more in God than we have experienced.   We have not arrived and we will not “arrive” before Jesus comes for His Church.

As the Spirit of God moves across the earth there is a deepening hunger for More of HIM.  This present day outpouring is bringing focus to our Christian walk.  I don’t know about you, but I want more of God.  I want all of God that I can get.  I want to experience the fullness of God.  I want to receive the maximum anointing in God’s presence and God’s Glory.  I want more.

The exciting reality is that there is more.  We can never draw out of God all that He has.  The Bible says:

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Cor. 2:9

I want more of Jesus, I want more and more

I want more of Jesus than I’ve ever had before

I want more of Jesus, Full and fresh and free

I want more of Jesus

So I’ll give Him more of me…

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

How do we get God’s abundant supply to our need?

We need to understand the Natural World as it relates to and exists with (alongside of) the Spiritual World.  Most people do not realize that there are literally two worlds existing (in the present) side by side.  One is the Natural World (the world we can see and touch and taste and hear and feel).  The visible, natural, physical world.  This is the world we live in.  The world that our mind (soul) and our body relates to.  This world is easy to perceive because it relates to our reasoning… our senses… our sight.   It can be experienced and understood by the natural faculties of man.

However, the “natural” man cannot receive (understand) the things of the Spirit of God because they are “spiritually discerned…” they relate to the Other World…The Spiritual World.

But the natural man(psuchikos) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Cor 2:14

But he that is spiritual (pneumatikos)  judgeth (investigates, examines, searches and discerns) all things, (as to whether they are Truth or Fact). 1 Cor 2:15

Believing God begins in the Spirit and manifests in the Natural.  It effects change in the Natural World because it is reality in the Spiritual. World.  What we make as a determined and conscious act of our human will starts things happening.

The Spirit of God and the Truth of His Word are always more Powerful in operation than the natural and physical facts that are happening all around us.

When our Believing explodes as a Revelation coming out of our Spirit, it produces change in the physical, natural world.

His supply will always satisfy our need

The Man from Magadan

December 15, 2022

Sometimes, something so radical and impossible happens that demonstrates God’s Love and Grace.

This incident took place back in 1989 after the collapse of Communism in the old Soviet Union.  As a result, the doors in that part of the world were opened wide for the influx of the Gospel.  Following nearly 70 years of oppression, when preaching and church and owning a Bible were illegal and punished severely by the communists, suddenly God made it possible for us to go in and hold evangelistic meetings and distribute Bibles in the Russian Language.

It was during this exciting time that our church organized short term mission trips and travel with small groups from our congregation into various parts of Russia, the Ukraine and Siberia.  The object was to hold meetings, sponsor pastors and plant churches.  We would purchase a complete sound system, take thousands of New Testaments in the Russian Language, connect with a contact in different cities, and rent a large conference hall to conduct a 3 or 4-day evangelistic meeting and then establish a new church from the converts that were reached.

We took a group from Life Church and targeted Kramatorsk, a large city in the Ukraine to hold a meeting and establish a church.  Since language was a problem, we would secure translators and interpreters to collaborate with us.  But one area of ministry was not so dependent on understanding words of a different language.  That area was the ministry of music.  So, we would prepare a group of songs, usually simple choruses, which were popular and effective in the states and use members of our group to sing, play instruments and minister with music.  Pat oversaw organizing the musicians and selecting the music we were to use in the crusade.

One day, shortly after we arrived in Kramatorsk, the musicians were rehearsing the songs that were to be used in the opening evening session.  Since the building we were using was adjacent to a busy street lined with various kinds of businesses, the pedestrian traffic walking near us could hear the music and the singing that we were rehearsing inside.    One morning, a man, looking just like the hundreds we saw every day, came into our building, and approached one of our translators.  From what I learned later, their conversation centered on the songs and the music our team was practicing.  The man was extremely excited and explained that he oversaw the music ministry in his church that was now free to worship without fear of being arrested or detained by the KGB.  He was very interested to learn how he could have access to the songs and music he was hearing so he could teach the people in his church.

He had with him a small, handwritten, well-worn booklet, bound together with a piece of string, containing the words to the songs and choruses he was using in his church.  The remarkable thing is his church was in the city of Magadan in the far reaches of eastern Siberia.  On the map, you can see it is in the proximity of the Bering Sea and nearly 4000 miles east of Kramatorsk.  He was so emotional, and so thankful for this Miracle Moment when he encountered just what he needed…. and at such an “impossible” circumstance of divine convergence.

One of Pat’s most treasured possessions was the small, tattered, hand-written booklet of the songs the Man from Magadan gave her.  And it was this booklet and this God-Connection that became the driving passion and motivation for her and a few local musician helpers to compile the first Russian Language Book of songs and spiritual choruses ever published… complete with written music scores and accompanying words.  We were enabled to print tens of thousands of them and freely distribute them throughout all our mission travels inside the Old Soviet Union…

Because of God, the Man from Magadan and Pat’s Vision….

They are still in use in hundreds of churches and home groups over there today

What will You Do?

December 14, 2022

Jer. 12:5   If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

If we have run with the footmen and grown weary… how will we be able to contend with the horsemen when they come?  If we are tired and weary now when things are relatively easy, what will we do when hard times come?

Ps. 34:19   Many are the afflictions  (hurts, troubles, adversities, sadnesses) of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth (rescues, recovers) him out of them all.

The “many afflictions” that are with us simply identify us as “the righteous.”  If we are “the righteous” then we can expect “many afflictions.” And we are promised total deliverance from them ALL… not by what we do but by what God does.

Afflictions will come.

Trials will come.

Temptations will come.

Troubles will come.

Hurts will come.

Sadnesses will come.

Adversities will come.

When they do, what will you do?

We have set our course.   We have made our declaration.  We will press toward the mark for the prize.  We will go for the gold.  We will not settle for anything less.  This is the hour and this is the season.  God is bringing forth His very best… His elite…  His first string… His champions.  We have been in training.  We have sat under great teaching.  We have heard great preaching.  We have been exposed to the best God has to prepare us for what is about to come forth.   We have been around a while.  We are not novices.  God has moved us into the Main Stream.  He has provided us with Revelation.  He has brought us Out that He might bring us In.  We are part and parcel of His Divine Purpose and Plan.

Now, times will change.  Things will change.  Pressures will build.  Situations will happen.  And when they do, what will you do?  If you are wearied by the footmen, what will you do when the horsemen come?

There will be times in your Christian Life when you wonder what is happening.  Things will get spooky.  Situations will get out of control.  The more you try to reel in the problem, the more tangled your line gets.  In the process, you will get tired and weary and impatient.  You will begin to wonder if it is really worth it all.  Discouragement will move in and satan will begin to make you tempting offers and alternatives.  Pursuing God is not an easy thing..  The way into Life is Narrow and Straight and only a few will find it according to Jesus.  Sometimes, the way to get relief seems to be just to quit.  To forget it.  To retreat.  To back down.  It is always easier to cop out than to cope.  The greatest temptation any Believer faces is the temptation to quit or back off when afflictions arise.   The grass may look greener on the other side of the fence.  The pressures and stresses of maintaining your Victory Stand may build to the point of breaking.  Situations and circumstances may develop that will press you beyond measure and push you “over the edge”.  How are believers to handle such situations?  What are we to do when we are pressed beyond measure?  Where can we go to get some “relief?”  Is there a way out when we are at the breaking point?  What are our alternatives?

Here are your options.

1. You can Quit.  You really can.  It is possible.  It is an option you have.

John 6:66   From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

John 6:67   Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

John 6:68   Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Jesus wondered if his own disciples were going to quit.  It looked like they were going to do what everyone else was doing… they were going to leave.  Back out.  Go back.  Just because following Jesus became a challenge.  A hard thing.  A dividing thing.  A costly thing.  “Are you leaving, too?”  “Will you also go away?”  “Are you going to follow the crowd?”  I’ve wondered at times how many will quit.  How many will stay behind.  How many will dig in and refuse to go ahead.  We have faced some formidable obstacles… some costly ones… some demanding ones.  This is an issue we need to face today.  We are nearing the Promised Land… we are close to entering in.  This is when the pressures build and the temptations come.  Will you quit?  Will you throw in the towel?  Will you take a dive?

This is not hard to do and it is always a temptation especially when things really get tough.  When the demands of Jesus become costly.  To quit is  the easiest thing to do and it offers the least resistance.  Anybody can quit.  You can quit.  We can quit.  Many have and others will.  What about you?  Has satan “got your number?”  What will it take to make you quit?  How much more “can you stand?”  Do you have your price?  What will it take for you to sell out?  Are you at your breaking point?  Is quitting a real temptation for you this morning?  Some who are listening are right at the “giving up” and “quitting” stage.  I know it.  I feel it.  I sense it.

I have learned over the years that the best way to overcome the temptation to quit is to do something radical.  Something weird.  Something unusual.  Something that is not natural.  I like to make bold confessions… especially when I do not feel like doing it.  It seems foolish and impractical, but it is the Thing To Do.  And there is Scriptural evidence to support such an act.  David did it.  Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did it.  Moses did it.  Joshua did it.  So I can do it.  And you can do it.  Let’s do it now.

Let’s take a vote.  Let’s make a declaration.  Let’s take a stand.  Let’s announce to hell.  Let’s resolve….  I WILL NOT QUIT.  I WILL NOT QUIT NOW.  I WILL NOT QUIT NEXT WEEK, NEXT MONTH, NEXT YEAR.  I WILL NEVER QUIT.  I AM HERE TO STAY…. NO MATTER WHAT.

Now, it’s settled.  It’s settled on earth, in hell and in heaven.  It’s settled in your heart.  In your home.  In your business.  In your church.  I WILL NOT QUIT.  Now or Ever… I WILL NOT QUIT.

2. You can compromise.

To compromise is to settle for something less than God’s Best.  To compromise is to waver in your commitment to God.  It is to be half-hearted.  It is to be mediocre.  It is to be lukewarm.  It is to be less than what God wants and less than what God demands.  To compromise is to look for and settle for the easy way out.  The comfortable way out.  The way of “least resistance.”  To compromise is to refuse to come out of your “comfort zone.”  To compromise is to hit the snooze button when God says “get up.”  To compromise is to make a deal with the devil.  To cut some slack with hell.  To listen to the voice that says:  “don’t take this God stuff too seriously… after all, it’s going to blow over… it will pass away… it won’t last.  Don’t get involved in all this emotional hype.  It can’t last…”

To compromise is to fail the test.  To compromise is to cheat.  To compromise is to consider self more than God.

satan is probably saying to you right now…”if you will back off, I will back off!”  “If you will ease up, i will ease up…”  “If  you will slow down, i will slow down.”  You can back down and ease up and let off.  You can stop and get stuck where you are.  You can be still and placid.  You can retreat and give up ground that you have fought for and won.  Compromise is an alternative.  A real alternative.  A tempting alternative.  But a disastrous alternative.  You can slip back and fall back and go back.  To compromise is to backslide.  To compromise is to stay put.  To compromise is to be comfortable.  To compromise is to be satisfied.  To compromise is to cool off.  To simmer down.  To change what you believe  because of what is happening around you.

3.  You can feel sorry for yourself and give in to self-pity.

You can become introverted… introspective.  You can be so caught up in your own problem that that is all you think about.  You become blind to the needs of others.  You become insensitive to the call of God and the Move of God.  You can become more concerned about YOU than you are concerned about OTHERS.  This is self pity and it is a sin.  It is selfishness.  It is wrong and it is abusive.  Abusive to others.  Abusive to God.  Abusive to your testimony.  Abusive to your church.

Looking inward can make you compare yourself with others.  Then it can make you mad at others because they are not having it as hard as you are.   It will make you Jealous of others.  It can cause you to be hurt with others.  It will rob you of your joy and contribute to your misery.  It will consume you and cripple you if you do not deal with it.

It can even make you mad with God.  You will begin to wonder about the wicked getting blessed and others getting blessed (that are not working as hard as you are or doing as much as you) and you can get mad with God.   Really mad.  Upset.  Disgusted.  Then you will get mean and ornery and hateful.  You will begin to feed on the sympathy that others give you.  Next comes the grumbling and the griping and the criticizing.    All because you got into self pity.  It will shut off the love flow.  It will stifle your compassion.  It will make you miserable and everybody around you miserable.  It will affect your home, your job, your relationships.

This is an option you have… but it is not a good one.

4.  OR… you can turn your problems into Opportunities to trust God.

You can make your “situations” a test track for the Word of God.  You can stand and sing and shout and refuse to accept defeat.  You can endure and count it all joy when you come into temptations and trials.  You can see every impossible situation as an opportunity to defeat the devil.   You do not have to quit.  There are other things you can do.  There are other things you should do.

Ok… so you have decided not to quit.  You have decided not to compromise.  You have decided not to feel sorry for yourself.  You have decided to turn your problems into Opportunities to trust God… NOW:  HOW do you do it?

FIRST…. Understand that you are not the only Believer facing a tough situation.  You are not by yourself.   There are literally thousands of other saints who have not bowed their knee to Baal in the thick of the battle.  The very fact that you are tempted to Quit is a good sign…  If nothing is happening to you then you are doing nothing for the Kingdom.  If the devil is not moving, then you are not moving.  If demons are not stirring, then you are not stirring.  If you are not in conflict with the powers of darkness, then you are headed the wrong way.

Ps. 34:19   Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

1Cor. 10:13   There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

SECOND… never expect your Faith Walk to be easy.  You have not chosen an easy way of life.   To live by the Word is the most disciplined life a man or woman can know.  All the forces of darkness are set in array against you… demon powers have zeroed in on you because you have become a threat to them…. REJOICE and be EXCEEDINGLY GLAD.  SHOUT.  SING.  DANCE.  RUN.  LEAP.

THIRD… Review your Contract with God.  If you will, you will see that there is no provision for quitting in it.  When you got saved, you made a Life Commitment to God with no strings attached.  There were no “what ifs” or “just in cases” or other conditional clauses in the Contract.  God did His part.  Jesus did His part.  The Holy Ghost did His part.  The Salvation Contract calls for you to do your part.  You are expected to ENDURE.  You are required to STAND and not WAVER.  You are bound by your Contract with God not to QUIT no matter what.  “He that endureth unto the end shall be saved…”  “Do not grow weary and faint in your minds…”  “Having done all, Stand!…”  “He that dwelleth in the Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty…”

FOURTH… Remember your victories in the past.  See how God delivered you from the “hand of the lion and the hand of the bear…”  That is what David did as he faced the Uncircumcised Heathen Giant.  Remember and recall and relive the many victories in your past Christian Life.

We have endured dishonest building contractors and thieving con men.  We have maintained our honesty and refused to bow to criticism.  We have lived down lies and resisted the devil and watched him flee.  We have held our head high we have bowed our knee to no man and we have refused to compromise our convictions.  WE WON.  WE ARE STILL WINNING.  The WORD will always WIN.  If you are considering Quitting… STOP right now and REMEMBER YOUR PAST VICTORIES.

FIFTH… You need to REPENT for even considering quitting.  It is a sin and an affront to your faith to even think about going back.

2Pet. 2:20   For if after they have escaped the pollution’s of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

2Pet. 2:21   For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

2Pet. 2:22   But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

You do not have the RIGHT to quit.   You cannot legally cancel your commitment to God.  You are bound by your Promise.  If you have quit, REPENT and come back.  If you are considering quitting REPENT and stop considering it.  Quitters are losers.  Quitters are Apostates.  Quitters are Backsliders.  Quitters are those who “fall away”.

SIXTH… Rededicate your efforts to Keep on Keeping on.

Renew your mind so that you can think right in the middle of your tight situation.  If you allow your situation to dictate how you think and how you feel you will fail and you will quit.  If you allow your mind to be renewed by the Word of God so that you will think like God thinks then you will not quit.  God did not Quit.  Jesus did not Quit.  The Holy Ghost did not Quit.  The Word did not Quit.  Aren’t you glad they didn’t.  Be a non-conformist.  Be a radical.  Be different.  Don’t yield to the pressures and allow them to make you back down.  Make your boldest confession in the midst of your darkest trial.  You do not have to be like everybody else.

Say this with me right now:  “Jesus, forgive me for even considering quitting.  I repent of the sin of turning back and slowing down and backing down and giving up.  I vow this day to never quit.  I will stand and I will not yield to the pressures of satanic powers.  I decide today to keep on keeping on… no matter what.  I will not be moved.  Hallelujah.”  Be as persistent as the 3 Hebrew Children:  “I will not bow I will not bend… go ahead and heat the furnace and throw us in… God will deliver us out of the fire and out of your hand, devil.”  Be as unwavering as David when he faced his giant (we all have our giants to face, amen?)  “Thou comest to me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield: but I come to thee in the Name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied… (your situations have defied the Lord God Most High.) This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand and I will smite thee and take thine head from thee and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines THIS DAY unto the fowls of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth that ALL MAY KNOW there is a GOD IN ISRAEL… for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands…”  (I Samuel 17:45-47)

“Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude (your situations) for the battle is not yours, but God’s…”  (II Chron. 20:15)

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shall condemn…”  (Isa. 54:17)

FINALLY… Rejoice and praise God for the Victory even before it comes!!  Sing and shout.  Leap and dance.  Run and jump.  Rejoice and praise God right where you are before you see any signs of relief.  Get you some banners and flags.  Paint you some posters.  Hang out some ribbons.  Advertise your victory before you get it.  Buy you a billboard!! Let God see that you are committed to winning and overcoming.  You can never embarrass God with your Faith.  Persist.  Press through.  Stretch.  See your victory in the eyes of your spirit.  See it so real that you can shout about it.  Sincere, heart-felt praise always precedes victory!!  I command you right now in the Name of Jesus to REFUSE DEFEAT and to CHOOSE VICTORY. “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed may live…!  (Deut. 30:19)

Let’s take our oath of allegiance:  (Stand up and put your right hand on the Bible…)

“I solemnly promise to go on with God.  I promise to actively pursue God and His Divine Purpose for me.  I vow before heaven and earth and hell that I will never retreat.  I will never back up.  I will never slow up.  I will never give up.  I will protect, defend and support to the death  (if necessary) this End Time Move of God.  I will remain faithful to the end… so help me God.”

Word for Today:  December 14
