If you are Born Again, Here is who God says you are and what God says you have and what God says you can do.
First, God says you are a New Creation.
The Bible says that if “any man be in Christ he is a new creation… old things are passed away and all things are become new…”
2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Just what does this mean? It means that God has made an entirely new species of beings and when you got Born Again you became an entirely New Creation, a member of this new species. Not an improved old creation. Not a renovated old creation. Not a fixed up previously broken creation but a NEW CREATION Created new in Christ Jesus. Not only are you a new creation but you are now a peculiar people.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
You are an odd creature. You are a misfit in the world. You are a citizen of another country…. A heavenly country. You are, according to the Bible, a chosen generation and a royal priesthood and a holy nation…. A peculiar people. That is what the Bible says about you. You have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God’s Dear Son.
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
As you see then, if you are Born Again, you are a new creation in Christ and you have been delivered from the power of darkness. Therefore, the power of darkness has no control over you anymore. You are free. You are delivered. You are ransomed and redeemed. The kingdom of darkness has no part in your life… you have authority and power over every demon and devil in hell. That’s who the Bible says you are.
You are more than a conqueror. But you say “I really don’t feel like a conqueror…” it really does not matter how you feel the only thing that matters is what God says about you. And what God says about you has nothing to do with how you feel or how you look or where you are or what others say about you.
The Bible says that you are an heir of God and a joint heir of Jesus Christ.
Ro 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ;
The Bible says that you are blessed with all spiritual blessings.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
The Bible says that you are sons and daughters of the Living God.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
The Bible says that you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people;
The Bible says that you are kings and priests unto God.
Re 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth…
The Bible says that you are over comers.
1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Do you believe the Bible? Can you dare to believe what the Bible says about you? Will you right now accept this truth regarding Who God says you are? Do not believe what you feel. Do not believe what you reason. Do not believe what you see… Believe what the Bible says because that’s the way it REALLY is. Hallelujah.
This is not to build up your ego or to make you think you are something or someone great in your sense knowledge, but this is to show you who God says you are in the Bible. And if God says you are these things, then you are these things…. Regardless of how you feel or how you think or what others say about you.
The church has too long walked about moping and groping with its nose in the dust feeling unworthy and trodden down and impoverished…. I am called, commissioned, and appointed to tell you that you are Somebody IN CHRIST. The Church of the Living God is the greatest thing going on planet earth today. It is the very extension of God on earth. The Body of Christ is infused with God’s ability, God’s power, and God’s authority. This means that God has given you and me the right and the power to do exactly what He would do if He were on earth in person walking right by your side.
Now, what does God say you have?
The Bible says you have life. LIFE.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
“Life” in this verse is the word “Zoe” which is Greek term that describes a quality of life, not a quantity, but a quality of life. It is the word that describes the very same kind of “life” that God has. Jesus is saying here “I have come that you might have life and that life will be the same kind of life that I have and the same kind of life that God has… ” This is the abundant life that Jesus has given to you and to me. It is not simply “living and breathing” or “natural, physical” life, but it is the same quality of life that God has. It is the “God Kind” of life. Can you imagine God being worried? Can you imagine God being afraid? Can you imagine God being sick? Can you imagine God being poor? God is not saving up for a rainy day. God is not getting ready to go to the hospital. God is not stressed out or tired out or “wore” out… God is just fine.
The Bible says you have Light.
1Jo 1:7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If you have light, then you do not walk in darkness. You do not live “wondering” and “wishing” and “hoping” and “praying” about what is going to happen. You do not stumble and fall because you walk in the LIGHT and all things are revealed to you… you know the TRUTH. You KNOW. And because you KNOW the truth the Bible says that you are free. Free from all the anxieties and complexities and circumstances of a sin-cursed planet.
The Bible says you have Liberty.
2Co 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
You are free. You are no longer inhibited. You are no longer intimidated. You are no longer bound. You do not worry about what people think. You can enjoy worshipping and praising God. You can raise your hands. You can clap, dance, and rejoice. You are not bound by tradition or religion or by doctrine or dogma. You can shout and celebrate openly and without shame. You have liberty. Liberty and freedom in worship and praise are the results of the Presence of the Holy Spirit. When He is there… you are uninhibited, unintimidated, unashamed, and unafraid.
The Bible says you have Love shed abroad in your heart.
Ro 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
You can love just like God loves. This means you can really love those who are hard to love. Do you know some people who are hard to love? The Holy Ghost has been “shed abroad” in your heart and now you can love the unlovely. You can love your enemies and love those who curse you, gossip about you, lie about you, mistreat you, judge you, and take advantage of you. You can love them with the God kind of Love and that kind of love never fails.
You have joy. You have peace. You have forgiveness. You have all your needs met. You have a sound mind. You do not have a spirit of fear. You are not having a nervous breakdown. And you never have to have one. You are not living with shattered dreams and hopes. You are not sad, depressed, discouraged, and distressed… Look at what the Bible says you have. Now act that way.
Here is what God says you can do….
God did not just save you to get you to heaven. He also saved you so that you could walk around on this planet filled with Resurrection Life, free and totally delivered. You can make things happen that will bless the Kingdom of God. You can do things. You are equipped by God, filled with the Holy Ghost, and enabled to make things happen that will glorify God and expand His Kingdom.
God says you can Speak to Mountains, and they will obey your command.
Mr 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
You can speak to your “mountain” whatever it may be. Your circumstances. Your situation. Your sickness. Your marriage. Your finances. Your children. Your job. God has fixed you so that you can talk to your problems in Jesus’ Name and make them obey your command. Jesus talked to “things” that had no ears. He talked to a storm. He talked to a fig tree. He talked to certain sicknesses and diseases. He set the precedent and paid the price so that you and I can do what He did and expect the same results that He got.
Demons and devils are subject to your “saying.” Whatever you say to them in Jesus’ Name they must do. Every knee must bow to the majesty and might of that Name. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to “feel sorry” for believers who are in trouble. Do you know why? Because they apparently do not know the Truth or have ignored the Truth or disobeyed the Truth. There is no such thing as “I can’t” in the life of a Spirit Filled, Faith Filled, turned on Believer. God expects you to take advantage of what Jesus has done for you through His suffering and sacrifice on the Cross. Have you? Are you? Will you?
God says you can Cast out Devils.
Mr 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils;
Are you a Believer? Then you don’t have to call the preacher or the pastor or some TV personality to run the devil out of your life. You can. You have been given authority and power over all devils. Listen to this:
Lu 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
This means that every Believer has more power than the devil. The only power the devil has is the power you have given him and allowed him to have. If you don’t give him power, he has none. You give him power by sense knowledge thinking, foolish talking and doubt-filled words. If you don’t “know” the Bible, your ignorance can and will destroy you.
Ho 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
God says you can Heal the Sick.
Mr 16:18 … they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
God has given you the opportunity and blessing of operating in Jesus’ Name. This means that the Power and Authority God invested in His Son has been given to every Believer. This makes it possible for you to do what Jesus did and get the same results Jesus got. Jesus Himself told us that we would be enabled to do “even greater works” than He did while He was on this earth.
Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Why are we not seeing more results? Why are believers so oppressed and bound by the forces of darkness? Why is the Church so powerless? The responsibility for every failure can be laid at the feet of doubt , unbelief, disobedience, and ignorance. Jesus has told us that we would know the Truth and the Truth would make us free…
Joh 8:32 And ye shall know (to learn to know, come to know, get a knowledge of perceive) the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
God says you can Reign in Life as a King.
Ro 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign (to be king, to exercise royal power, to reign) in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
According to this verse have you “received abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness?” Certainly, you have if you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life. If you have come to Him for the forgiveness of your sin and received Him into your heart as Lord and Savior. You have the power and ability to succeed and not fail. You can conquer every obstacle and defeat every devil.
God says you can be Well and Healthy. You do not have to be sick, weak, and anemic.
Ps 91:16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
God’s best is never a miracle. God’s best is that you never need a miracle. Miracles do happen but don’t you think it is better if you never need one? Living in health is better than needing to be healed from sickness or disease. Living in prosperity is better than needing some miraculous financial break through to keep you afloat. Living in joy and happiness and peace is better than needing some kind of miracle to free you from stress and depression.
God’s promises are far better than psychological band aids. Look up scriptures that promise you what you need and then simply believe what God says. Believe what God says in spite of what you see, what you feel or what you think.
God says that you can prosper. You do not have to live constantly in lack and need. God says that everything you set your hand to do will succeed.
Ps 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
God has promised to meet all your needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus. Jesus plainly told us not to worry about what we are to eat, where we are to sleep or what we have to wear. Remember? Worry is faith in the devil. Worry is faith in reverse. Worry slanders every promise in the Word of God. Prospering means having all your needs met with a surplus left over. And this is the will of God for you.
God says that you can bind and loose… you have the power and authority to bind the things that need binding and loose the things that need loosing.
Mt 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
You can “open” and you can “close.” You can start things and you can stop things. You can prevent things and you can cause things. You can command on earth and Heaven will respond in like manner. And say “Amen!” What you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. Remember, God allows what you allow. If you refuse to allow satan and demons to operate in your life and family, heaven will agree with you. When your thinking and your believing and your speaking agree with God’s Word, then you can “walk together.” How can two walk together except they be agreed?
God says you can do all things through Christ Who is your strength.
Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Does this negate all “impossibilities” in your life? Does this erase all excuses for self-pity? Does this do away with all defeat? Would God have said this if He did not Mean IT? Then all our problems have no “reason” for remaining in our life. IF we have knowledge of the Truth and apply that knowledge to our circumstances through the God Kind of faith then Victory will be insured. Every time. All the time.
Now, do you really believe what God says? Yes or no. IF you do believe what God says then:
You can Speak to Mountains, and they will obey your command.
You can Cast out Devils.
You can Heal the Sick.
You can Reign in Life as a King.
You can be Well and Healthy.
You can prosper.
You can bind and loose.
You can do all things through Christ Who is your strength.
Now, what will keep you from doing these things? What will stop the flow of God’s Power in your life?
If you “know” these truths in your spirit, they will not work for you if you do not DO them in your daily living. You may be asking, “Why will these things not work for me?” What will prevent you and me from being able to do these things?
1. Laziness
2. Ignorance.
3. Unbelief.
4. “Religion.”
5. Fear.
6. Skepticism.
7. Lukewarmness.
8. Sin.
9. Delay.
Many things will keep you from doing what God says you can do but guess who suffers in the process? You do. I do. We do. God says you can. God has made you a “can do” person. “I can’t” is not a part of the Believer’s vocabulary.
God is so good. He is so Awesome. He is so Wonderful. And He really means what He says. God means what He says about Himself. He means what He says about Jesus. He means what He says about the Holy Ghost. God means what He says about His Word. And God means what He says about YOU. Now you know Who you are. Now you know What you have. And now you know What you can do.
God wants you to live in all the Redemptive Benefits He has provided for you by and through the Redemptive Work of Jesus Christ. Living is less is “falling” from (coming short of) His Grace.
God has declared it, now it’s up to you to possess it
